* Vitamins- You can get daily vitamin supplements
* Minerals – contained in many vitamin supplements and you can also get just them
So if all of these have pills you can take for them, it seems that you could live just on pills.
Not really because some things,especially minerals, are difficult for the body to absorb. Some supplements chelate the minerals to make them more bioavailable. Food helps bind these and aids in their absorption. Food also activates stomach acids levels which gives further assistance in the breakdown and utilization of supplements.
