For Those Of You Who Feed Your Dog A Raw Diet (home Made Or Pre-packaged), What Supplements Do You Add?

I feed my two dogs Nature’s Variety raw frozen food. They each get vitamin C, Prozyme, Grizzly Salmon oil, raw honey (when I can get it), apple cider vinegar, and fresh fruit & vegetable juice plus the pulp. I occasionally give them black strap molasses as well. I am curious as to what supplements others add to their dog’s food and why.

I don’t generally “supplement”. I do give some Salmon Oil at times when its been a bit between fish meals. I feed my dogs extra scraps which includes vegie peels and leftovers etc.. they eat everything I eat – except they eat better meat!
I’ve been raw feeding for about 15 years.

Occasionally I remember to put apple cider vinegar in his water, but he only will drink it if there’s a tiny amount in there.
He gets fresh fruit and vegis as treats- but the picky eater doesn’t like most fruits/vegis. He’d much prefer some liver or heart as a treat. :P
I ‘make’ my own raw- but I go after the predator/prey model diet, so he gets pure meat. Beef, Chicken, Pork are the most common meats, plus raw eggs.
I have been thinking about getting fish oil, just need to get to the vitamin stores nearby and see if they have any.
Every so often I make the ‘Satin Balls’ recipe- that has molasses in it..
If and when he has any pill medication, I give it to him via peanut butter.
I also have been trying different brands of joint supplements- being a Great Dane, I think its good for him to have that extra bit.

not many I give a multi vitamin and occasionally a little yogurt for probiotics and because they like it but it is just like a spoonful on top of the food.

I feed Nature’s Variety as well, and I don’t add anything. With the pre-packaged, you shouldn’t need to add anything to it.
