*know Of Any Supplements/vitamins/minerals That Help Decrease Oil Production On The Skin Or Help With Acne??

I have EXCESSIVELY oily skin. It’s so bad, that a mere 20 minutes after washing my face its got a layer of oil over it. I do everything right for oily skin – use non-harsh cleaners to avoid sending the oil into “overdrive”, use saliylic (sp?) acid before going to bed, only wash my face twice a day, use oil-absorbing sheets instead of powder to “freshen up”, drink lots of water, and use mineral foundation.
Sure, my sleeping and eating habits could improve, but they’re not bad.
Along with my oily skin, is moderate facial and body acne – (the oil is everywhere!) And I know that’s the cause for most of my acne problems.
Anyway, I want to know if there any vitamins or mineral supplements that can be used to decrease oil production. I’ve heard of B5 pantothenic acid – but there’s NO way I’m taking those mega doses. Would taking the regular dose help me out?
I don’t want to go on accutane b/c of the risk factors. I am sick of worrying about my skin. Plus, my makeup rubs off everywhere!

Some woman from the image conscious city of Santa Moncia once told me that milk thistle and yellow dock are good. Tea Tree Oil removes the swelling, but it’s not fast enough. Acidophilus Probiotics are supposed to help – it’s especially good if you’ve taken Tetracycline for a number of years. I’ve also read good stuff about Dandelion Leaves from Mary Louise Gittleman, so I did my research earlier…. and this is what I found:
    Beneficial Dietary Supplements
Alpha-Sterol helps open the blocked pores releasing the excess oils from the skin.
Tea Tree Oil is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic.
Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) reduces inflammation and promotes healing.
Vitamin B3 improves circulation to the surface of the skin surfaces and helps repair skin conditions.
Acidophilus Probiotics help replenish natural good body bacteria to reduce acne outbreaks.
Chromium Picolinate aids in reducing skin infections.
Colloidal Silver is considered a natural antibiotic and may be applied topically and taken internally.
Essential Fatty Acids helps keep skin smooth, repairs tissue and dissolves fatty deposits that block pores.
Potassium and Zinc helps heal tissue and prevent scaring.
Garlic improves blood circulation, destroys bacteria and enhances immune function.
Burdock Root, Dandelion Leaves, Milk Thistle and Red Clover are powerful blood cleansers when taken internally.
Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex Agnus Castus) may be taken internally to aid in reducing acne breakouts related to hormonal changes from PMS.

Sleeping Beauty. I know what you;re talking about. I know someone like that but it’s with ther forehaed speciifally. Always oils up.
Anyway,I have two suggestions, which may be more geared towards acne reduction but worth a look.

    which is more for ance
    2. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a… (Walgreens sells this also)
It may help if you choose one item and omit the rest, as a combination of multiple treatment components could have a canceling effect.

I know the problem, and it is so frustrating. I tried something and it works great for me. I cut out almost all fats, especially chocolate. When I get the craving I eat dried pinapple or papaya. So sweet, and full of natural sugar, but no fat. No burgers. Also low-fat foods, milk, meat without fat etc. I took milk thistle supplements to clean my liver, 350 – 500mg daily with lots of water, and that works really fast to reduce skin oil with me. Also I use hand soap to wash my face, because it cuts through the oil better than facial soap or lotion

don’t know about pills, but there is a beauty line that makes an anti-shine regulating lotion that fixes your ph balance so that you produce less oil on your face. It’s a french line offered in the US @ CVS or Brooks called Avene. They have little counters. try it, it has worked for me.

One of the most popular prescribed drug for treating acne is (Isotretinoin) Accutane. Although it has a pretty high success rate, there are many studies out that now claim Accutane can cause very serious side effects.
Isotretinoin (the generic name for accutane) is used to treat the most severe and disfiguring cases of nodular acne. In the twenty years since accutane’s release it has been linked to numerous life threatening side effects. It has been the subject of many court cases and even a United States congressional hearing.
Over the last 20 years there have been countless lawsuits brought against LaRoche, the maker of accutane. Court papers list the reasons for these proceedings, mostly brought about as a result of the side effects of the drug, including depression, suicide and birth defects.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
